Spring is in the air! Flowers are blooming, the weather is ideal for being outside, and here you are – stuck inside cleaning a nasty bathroom. So, rather than spend big $$ hiring someone, what if you could take an hour long chore and make it a couple quick routines. DONE.
OK, so here’s the deal, this routine requires two things 1) wake up 5 minutes early 2) keep your counters clear of debris. And then this is just me, but pick a multipurpose cleaner like Fabuloso, Pine Sol with the proper ratio of water (check the back of the bottle and there’s usually a writeup of how much water/product).
Grab a towel and set those timers – it’s go time!
Step 1: sweep what little is on the counter to the side (for me it’s soap, and one picture). Spray 4-6 sprays over the entire counter and sink and work from one edge to the other.
Step 2: Pivot, spray the toilet tank lid, toilet lid and back and wipe with the same towel (ok, if this is your first round of doing this in I-won’t-ask-how-long, then maybe grab a fresh towel. But if you do this twice a week same towel will do). Throw the towel on the ground (it will get one last use in a second).
Step 3: Lift the lid, spray and wipe with tissue or paper towel (I use tissue so then I can just flush but you do you). Next lift the lid and spray, then wipe with tissue or paper towel.
Step 4: Spray the floor around the toilet, wipe with the towel. Throw towel in the wash.
DONE.
Do this routine two days a week, then whenever you sweep/vacuum the house just be sure to include the bathroom. If this is a bathroom with a tub/shower, then once a week throw the floor towel in the wash and use a shower spray or something that will kill germs with minimal effort.
